Does anyone know who writes that rubbish on the official site? It's toe curling. Rubbish or not, it must be Chris Hewlett, their publicist. Certainly overseen by Simon Porter, who used to be Quo's publicist too.

No I basically am not. Rossi will close it down when he is ready. Like I said bands galore have changed personnel and kept the name. I was answering to a post that said they haven't been Quo for nearly 40 years and i call bullsh1t. The Beatles change drummers ? 😂😂😂 When they were huge ? Or an early line up. You may have missed the thousands of people who asked for their money back when Brian was pushed out of AC/DC. Yes bands change line ups and many change. For Status Quo they became a shadow of themselves. Are they Status Quo of course. Are they the band that had regular hits or recorded great albums. Well no. It doesn't matter when it was, the Beatles still sacked the drummer. I wasn't really talking about Brian either regarding ACDC, but a lot of bands change personnel and most probably keep the same name. A question to Americanquo, Who in your opinion, nearly 34 years ago now, opened the live aid gig in 1985?

Proud to say it was Status Quo who opened Live aid ! And anyone who thinks differently. Well I bet they were sitting glued to the TV on the day. They can’t kid me 😂

Apart from his Mam no one ever said oh remember how the Beatles sounded when Pete Best was in the band. However to be fair to you they have the right to be called Status Quo. They can still make money but less and less people care. So by your logic if I buy out Status Quo and tour it. It will still be Status Quo.

No, at the moment you have 2 others members in the band that have served well over 3 decades to the course. They deserve to be recognised as Status Quo imo. But again in my long standing opinion the buck stops with Francis Rossi, if he had ever left or decides to call it a day, it would end over night. If he hadn’t have changed his mind in 86, it would have long since sunk without trace.

The line up does matter because if Rossi had left in 86, like I said,it would have finished pretty quickly imo. But this thread all goes back to, is it still Status Quo, and yes it is but for some, in name only and for others something more.

I agree 100% that it's not Quo. Quo hasn't existed for nearly four decades. Are you saying if there is a change in personnel, a band is no more? Didn't the Beatles change drummers? ACDC a lead singer? What were they called after that? ...but wait hang on, according to Davyno, the Beatles also replaced Paul McCartney with Billy Shears after Paul died in car accident. Oh how I miss Davy’s conspiracy theories. 😂

Word around the campfire is Davy has replaced Chris Hewlett as their main publicist for the new album. Francis was fed up with the negative response by some, so he's hired someone with a slightly more robust writing style. So anyone less favourable to the Backbone album than let's say blagult can expect a Glaswegian bollicking.

Lol. The stupid thing is the Music is what’s important to me. A name is just a name. There will be tracks I love and probably a couple of skip tracks on there as well. Or maybe more. But I’m excited to find out. I’ll just base it on the music not the name or line-up. Mk 8 or whatever it is now of the band. I’ll settle for an opening like QPQ. Even that album tailed off in the middle before recovering at the end for my taste. I’m just glad we still have a band to debate about. Life would have been boring if it had gone tits up in 86 lol.

Except Davy is not allowed to see or answer anyone's comments on this board, yet still his name crops up. Funny that. Almost as though his presence enlivened proceedings. But, of course, more recent joiners would be unaware of that as posts have been deleted.

That is the main purpose of this forum. The board is active and we are getting more daily views than in the past.
