Over the past years ever since Bula Quo I had very little hope that Quo would ever be able to come out with something that I could like. Besides that, there's been all the other stuff about Francis and Rick and Alan and things that came out which made me feel dissapointed, angry, etc etc. Then there are the bad albums there are for me personally. And so on...But...if I put all that up to everything good that Quo has given me over the years, especially the albums Ma kelly's on to 1982, the fact that they still at times made songs and even albums that I really enjoy (Under the Influence, QPQ, The Party ain't ever yet), the memories I have from the late seventies and eighties, the uncountable times that they and their music dragged me through some of the most horrible periods in my life, then the fact is that the amount of good things and memories they have given me is far far bigger then all the dissapointing things. So the reason that, while I have my doubts about it, I will listen to the new album is because I simply owe it to them to give a new album at least a chance and not judge it without hearing it. I know one thing. Rick will be missed. It can never sound the same. But there's a difference between a worthless and a worthy album and I will see what will happen.

I'm looking forward to hearing it, maybe it'll be rubbish maybe not. I'll be happy if there's even a couple of tracks I enjoy. Most of the stuff since the late 70's has been pretty poor but the odd diamond in the rough gives you hope. Roll on September.

I'll be surprised if anyone on here doesn't have a listen
I'm glad they've made a rock album, I think it's something this line up needed to do
It's probably the only thing they could do that would generate the interest of lapsed fans

I'll certainly give it a listen. It's not Quo and I won't pretend that it is, but that doesn't mean it will automatically suck. If it's good I'll be happy. If it's not, well, I already have so much to listen to of theirs that it won't be a tragedy.

You Can’t Judge A Book By Looking At The Cover. ...but you'll get a fairly decent idea of who wrote it

I’ll buy it, as I have all their other recent albums. So far there has always been at least one track to justify the purchase. I’ve been a fan of varying degrees of enthusiasm since I got my first album back in the early 80s. At the moment my expectations are pretty low, but maybe that is a good thing, as I might be pleasantly surprised, or on the other hand, not too disappointed, with what they release.

I will be looking forward to hearing what it's like.
But will they get the guitar sound? That's the proof of the pudding for me.
I will always have Past Quo and all the good times they gave me.

I’ll be listening coz it’s a new Quo album. They are usually pretty good. Even “if you can’t stand the heat” has it’s good points.

If they don't mention Rick, it’s disrespectful. If they do mention Rick it’s disrespectful. I think it’s going to be great. I mean, how many albums was Rick actually on?

If so I don’t see it as trying to generate anything and why is it disgraceful in the slightest?

I've just posted for the first time about the new album in the Backbone thread and I'm looking forward to it after hearing those two new tracks live. The signs are good. I also think that Rossi being able to do solo stuff, either on his own or like the album with Hannah Rickard (I liked that by the way) should benefit the band Status Quo. They do seem to be in the groove which is good to see and hear.
