Surprising really that a thrash metal band did such a faithful cover. Suspect if they'd known how low Quo's stock in the UK rock world had become, they wouldn't have bothered at all...

Helloween is a power metal band...only had some trash influences on the first two albums...but that aside, it's a pretty good cover I think. There was a band who recorded a few of their tracks some time ago in a trashy version, Godslave, and although not sounding bad they were less faithful to the originals then this one from Helloween..

Great choice for a tribute, I love Too Far Gone.

Helloween is a power metal band...only had some trash influences on the first two albums... Not that it matters...but in the UK the rock press wrote about them as "the melodic thrash metal band", and for the first two albums that seemed a good description. The last album I heard was not thrashy and to me was enjoyable but very silly ("pink bubbles go ape" , "heavy metal hamsters" etc). I later discovered the band became influential in the "power metal" world, however they'd lost it's UK audience and barely sold anything after the thrashy start. No idea what they did later, any good?

That's a very close cover apart from the Muppetts vocals, and i can take that in small doses for its sincerity. What a good song that is!

Brilliant. Shows Quo's love of a Celtic gig and now its being reclaimed.

Gotta say I love these covers! I bet FR would hate the 'heaviness' of them though [and, conversely, AL would probably love to have played them that way originally!!] Really great stuff! [btw, Thanks 4th Chord ]

Hi MrWaistcoat , sorry to be getting back a bit later then planned to your post... but ok...Yes, the first two albums of Helloween were trashy...when Michael Kiske joined as vocalist for the albums Kepper of the seven keys and Keeper of the seven keys part two it went into power metal and those two albums are classics and full of quality in my eyes...Kai Hansen left after those and formed Gamma Ray which is still one of my absolute favorite bands. The next two albums were a lot less quality then the two previous ones, Pink Bubbles go Ape took the Power metal thing a bit too far and made it sound pretty silly indeed and Chameleon was a totally different album, an attempt to do something different and not succeeding as far as I am concerned...The quality returned when Michael Kiske left and Andi Deris joined as vocalist but I had to get used to his voice...the first couple of albums were a bit hard to take but the ones after that I do enjoy quite a bit. In 2018 Michael Kiske and Kai Hansen joined the band again for a Pumpkins united tour and apparently there's a new album scheduled with Kai and Michael cooperating too so it will have three singers...am gonna be very curious how that will turn out !
