I've been watching YouTube videos of Kiss..by the way I can't stand them but there concerts just keep popping up..and they are doing there farewell tour called "The End Of The Road" which I thought sounded familiar than when I watched the beginning of one of there concerts, they also use the drone at the start which also sounds familiar. I just wonder who used the drone first?

Don't know, but the 'stance' on the Kiss Alive album was taken from the FF. I recall Gene Simmons stating that.

Then Quo did "Live Alive Quo"
Always amazed me that Quo influenced Kiss, Ramones and Twisted Sister (remember they issue a UK single around 1984 with a Quo live postcard, remarkable!!)
I may be wrong, but I saw Kiss in the 80's and I don't remember any drone. I don't like them either !

Took my daughter to see Kiss 10 or so years ago. I was dreading it - they were brilliant! Or more accurately, the show was brilliant. There are very few better party songs than Rock'n'Roll All Nite. The live atmosphere was fantastic - you don't get that from YouTube videos. If you have any curiosity about them at all I would say give them a go.

The massively overweight Elephant in the room with Kiss, is they have a singer who can’t sing in tune, not even ina studio.
Musicians in here might back me up, but is not virtually every word he sings slightly((or a lot), flat?

I’m not much of a KISS fan, have a couple of their albums, Destroyer and Crazy Nights, but the two times I went to see them I was completely blown away. Really good live act with a fantastic stage show.

Now, age has taken its toll.

Gene Simmons. Couldn’t carry a tune in a bucket.

I’ve tried. Was bored when I saw them (no makeup era) although there’s a few I enjoyed , Detroit rock city , lick it up (a guilty pleasure) and heavens on fire.
I hated “crazy shites “ with passion. Going into the gig with that (donington 88) probably didn’t help. At that age music often made me love or hate something.
