I finished Francis Rossi book..it took me 4 days to read..I just couldn't put it down. I get why he does not want to work with Alan..and why he didn't want to carry on touring with the reunion tour.. .for those who haven't read it yet stop reading this post. It seemed Alan was just a bully in the old days and in 2013/14..in the old days Francis even put Alan's name on some of his songs just so Alan could receive royalties and even the reunion tour he was having ago at the catering staff..at the personal assistant about the tour bus..even Rick stepped in and had ago at Alan about his behaviour..and why Francis carried on after Rick passed. If your reply to this post is every story has 2 sides to it and that's just Francis side than why in the early 70's did Rick and Francis team up with drummer Kenny Jones from the Faces about starting a new super group with Rick on bass. Great book and if you haven't got a copy get one..all the answers are in there.

It kind of helps though. Him being the bloke at the front. The main singer, the lead guitarist and the most prolific writer.

Hi everyone, Just finished reading the autobiography of Francis. Took me just 3 days. Now you can say it's his point of view, and it is. But I think he's almost painfully honest most of the times, also about himself. Like he says, none of the fans where there behind the screens. Nobody, but him, Alan, John and Rick knew what was going on exactly. Lot of people seem to blame Rossi for about everything. I certainly agree he was not without faults, and certainly no saint. But at the end the band still was succesful without Alan and John. And the driving force behind it was afterall Rossi. He describes the drifting apart of the band members rather well in my opinion. And I know it's his words, but in the end he could be right. John quit himself, and Alan grew apart for being a total different character and had different opinions about the musical direction the band was going. Rossi and Lancaster could no longer work together, one of them had to go. And Rick? Francis mostly talks about him with love and respect. They slowly drifted apart the last few years but respected each other and were still good enough friends to keep working together. But read the book and look for yourself what Rossi says about the history of the band. And if he is not quite honest, and bending the truth a little here and there, let Alan, John or Bob young, or even a former ínsider' speak up and correct what should be wrong in their eyes. As for myself I think it's a great book and it made me understand some things better. A pity Rick did not live to write his autobiography, like he planned to do. Let for instance Alan give his story about it all. Only then we can compare, who is right and who is wrong. As for me I think Rossi's story gives a good picture of what happened to one of the greatest rockbands ever. But read the book and draw your own conclusions!
Cheers everybody!
Paul

There is a really popular Thin Lizzy Song: Dont Believe A Word. So you are saying the book is all lies?
There are many bits where Francis says the drugs clouded his memory but there are few areas where he can be said to be blatantly lying. But the blind will jump on anything.
Nuff has been threatening to write a book since 1986 - why hasn't he?
