John has already written a book - titled 'Coghlan and Quo' - which was first published in 2004. Guess this will be difficult to find now. But I will try. Thanks for the info. I was not aware of this book. Copy of it on E.Bay Uk for £19.99 right now

I had a quick rummage thru in a bookshop yesterday - like most folks here [ok ok, but not all folks...] I went straight to the juicy bits, [cos tbh I won't be buying it!]... AL at and after Live Aid and AL during the FF 13/14 reunions. I really can't believe I'm saying this 'cos I'd lost all trust & faith in FR YEARS ago - but if what he's saying is true, then I can kinda understand his viewpoint. There. I said it. phew!

G This is what I would really like to read about. There must be some explanation for why FR acts as he do. Book will be released 15th march here in Sweden. Will buy it.

just had a look and it seems it's only on hardback, at around £20
I will want to read it, but not at that price. Will wait for the paperback

I'm getting mine from my local library, so not worried about the cost.

If it sells enough copies it might appear at Tesco for £10. I might consider that. Otherwise it's back to the time honoured ritual of waiting for the paperback for me too. (Of, if I get really stuffy, the time honoured ritual of waiting for "new and used" on Amazon. )

G Oh dear, that doesn't sound good I guess I'll get the book in some version or other but it might be an uncomfortable read.... Funny how people remember things differently though. I guess we'll never know for sure what really happened.

I go back to my earlier point.... Why is it that everyone falls out with Francis and not Alan? Why is it, according to Francis, everyone else's fault and not his? I didn't see Bob, John, Rick, Gillie, RPJ or anyone else in a rush to fall out with Alan over what Francis perceived as shit behaviour

Yep - fair comments there freewilly and vivfromcov. I guess we just can't get to know all sides and tbh I'm kinda reaching 'peak-FR vs FF' now. It's a great pity that old wounds seem to have reopened 'cos it does [imho] somewhat tarnish the music they gave us. Maybe the identifiable dips in quality [RATOW, IYCSTH, 1982, BTB...] are explainable by the many shenanigans etc going on in the background. Just surmising!

I've just bought the book yesterday, and will start reading it very soon. Whilst I am hoping to learn more of what really happened within Status Quo, I am also very distrusting of Francis Rossi's word on anything these days - Years of contradiction instil me with very little confidence in the truth of anything the man says. However, I will read it, and see what the latest word is from the horse's arse - Sorry, mouth. Just a pity that Rick Parfitt is no longer here to give his side of the story. I am not saying for one minute that Rick was an angel, but it's always easier to criticize others when they are no longer present to defend themselves. I suspect I will not enjoy the parts of the book referring to Rick Parfitt. I also will be taking an interest in the Rossi / Lancaster relationship - Again, I know Alan is no angel, but I would like one day to see his input to the proceedings, to get both accounts of the story.
Rick Roper.
