Too late for me. 4th has seen to that. The song doesn't do anything for me, very underwhelming stuff from mr. Rossi.

Well hi there y’all...that don’t sound like no country n western song to these cotton pickin’ ears o’ mine. Sounds more like one of them modern kinda songs they call pop! No sir, give me Hank Williams or some Patsy Cline any day.

I like this song! I must admit that I wasn't looking forward to hearing it, but it's not being marketed as Status Quo, and it's very individual and listenable. Francis always said he wanted to be Jeff Lynn.... I guess this is him being just that. Credit to him for this.
Still not intending to buy any future Quo offerings though.
Rick Roper.

Awful... and wtf is with the Russian theme for the album art? Putin saw what he said about Russia and demanded Rossi has a Russian theme in some form on his new album

Sounds like an old Rossi/Frost tune! It's a Rossi/Young one Yes, but doesn't sound like a rossi/young one. Now I know of Bob's involvement I will probably listen to the album out of curiousity. I did like a few on the previous album, especially this one music.youtube.com/watch?v=a34o_9ygWzE&list=RDAMVMa34o_9ygWzE

That's the one I liiked! I still do. There's nothing "unusual" about it, but it sounds personal and moves along. I believe it was co-written by Nick Rossi. I'd be happy to see that on any Quo album (and with Rick to do the harmonies, they don't need the ladies). (Yes, I know that's not going to happen, but you can have dreams.)
Compared with that, "I talk too much" sounds heavy handed and (weird for a song about "I") impersonal. If you must "do an ELO", fer Chrissake do it properly ... he's kind of missed the point. Even in full orchestral flight, ELO always had a light touch.
Francis is a good singer, he needs to concentrate more on stripping down his arrangements and sounding personal. You can be follically challenged and still be a rock start. (Look at Mark Knopfler.)

Oi! Freewilly and I are not amused. It is a touchy subject.
