IS there any Quo song that gets the hairs on the back of your neck standing up quite like Backwater?

IS there any Quo song that gets the hairs on the back of your neck standing up quite like Backwater? Not the whole song maybe, but during the build up in the quiet/slow part of BFM,and when the drums kicks in again...F***

I dont think there are too many Quo songs better than Backwater...what an album.
During the Summer holidays when i was a teenager i sketched the album cover..took me ages..think it got thrown away a while back...it is without doubt a great sleeve...something magical about album covers..today a lot of folk just download stuff but the joy of buying album or even cds should never be underestimated.

The possibility of best status quo album, would of loved to see more tracks of it played live at the reunion shows. A full version of Slow Train live would've been fantastic.

I'll never forget the first time I heard the 2006 remaster of this, especially when John comes in with the drums on Just Take Me. I was in the car with the volume up LOUD. With the 4 speakers in the car it sounded like I was sat in the middle of his drum kit! For me, with albums like this, the 2006 remasters can't be beaten! Hello Ant. Just a quick question..I got a CD from 2005 and it says remastered, are you sure yours is from 2006?

Does anyone know if ‘they’ made a t shirt with the picture from the QUO album? I generally dislike all of the Quo t shirts but reckon the QUO album is very cool.

When ever I listen to the whole album, I'm always blown away by the magic and intricacy of Slow Train. Its almost better than... 45 100x. What a great ending to an album.

... I have just watched a rendition of BFM - I thought Rossi's playing was sublime and RM did a fantastic job on vocals. Talk about following a band of contrasting experiences!
Which rendition please?

Can't deside if this or Piledriver is my favorite.
SONGS: -Backwater/Just Take Me is Quo classics and a great couple to open the album. -Even though I normally tend to like the album tracks more I think Break the Rules is one of their best singles. -Remember Drifting Away was one of the first songs from the album that I fell for. Maybe not my favorite song today but I still enjoy it. -Don't Think it Matters has a great riff and includes one of my favorite guitar solos. -Fine Fine Fine is not my favorite but it's so short it doesn't bother me too much and I wouldn't want it to be removed. Good contrast. -Lonly Man is one of their greatest ballads. -Slow Train is the perfect closer and an epic track. Tight and heavy. Understand why they didn't play it live though. It would be hard to recreate that energy live and I guess the harmony guitar parts could be a challenge.
PRODUCTION: The production of Break the Rules and Fine Fine Fine is a little bit polished compared to the others but I've learned to live with that.
Makes me wonder: Did they produce the songs they have written? Always thought that they did all the production as a team but on this album it's a huge difference in production between the Rossi/Young-songs and the Parfitt/Lancaster-songs.
Over all I like the raw feel but it's a little bit to much distortion on the snare drum.

My favourite SQ album.
While it is heavy in places it also has that lovely “shade and light” with the ballads, bit of country etc
Perhaps a bit more controversially I also like the fact that it’s Rossi light in comparison to so many other albums where he tends to sing the vast majority of tracks. On Quo, the vocals and credits seem more evenly split which to my ears adds to the feel

Not that that makes QUO a bad album, to the contrary, it's oine of their best for me

I love this album! Every single song is epic and as said before, the light and shade makes it even more perfect. The only issue I have with my cd is that I can't relax with that awesome note ringing in my ears at the end of Slow Train as I have to remember to turn it off straight away (or go back to the beginning)! 😯
