Yes if we are following the recommended guidelines then this heading is not really constructive criticism is it or am I missing something ? I don’t mind the criticism in context to be honest. Let’s face it the sheer dross, sorry disappointment, of what was 1982 and B2B under the banner of the frantic 3 was more of a downfall in my eyes. Sheer gut wrenching disappointment to me at the time. This after what I believed was a fresh sounding brilliant NTL ! That was the true ending of your band. Not the 2019 version. Matter of opinion again. Personally I think the current band doesn't even have a patch on for instance albums like Under the Influence and QPQ. But I guess you could say the original band indeed ended in 81. Didn't mind 1982 all that much but btb was absolutely horrible in my eyes as well Or ‘76/77. Once Andy was part of the creative process they went into decline. But the magic recording circle of 4 was broken for all the times.

So the Karaoke continues into next year with the first show confirmed 27th July 2019 Poland Rossi looking very macho in that pic If you knew the meaning of "Karaoke." you would stop using it in this context Not to mention "Panto."

They went in decline with RAOTW and IYCSTH IMO but WYW, JS and NTL for me were albums that I would put together with all work between 70 and 76 without a problem and that I absolutely don't consider less. The Quo fan base is, as often said a wide church lol

Including QPQ which I think is 3/4 a great album. I am hoping again for a fresh feel with some of Richie’s influence ( if allowed ) to come through. Maybe some decent vocals.

I am not saying I won't listen to a new album. I will. Sadly enough I don't expect it to come anywhere near earlier material. The band was not easy to follow already with just Francis and Rick there, but at least I could enjoy some of the material still (including QPQ)... but when Rick passed away, it just stopped for me. However, I have nothing against anyone still enjoying the current band, good for anyone who can enjoy it

I also don’t expect it to sound like ‘Hello’ or matching up to that. For me I can take things on merit. Or should I say give it a chance. Irrespective of the band being without Rick. That’s not being disrespectful as I celebrate his life with my favourite band. No one can ever take that away from him. But we all move on and get a day older ourselves. I just feel that no matter what the band now bring out. Even if it did happen to turn out a great album that some people would just rubbish it because it’s only Francis band. On a hiding to nothing springs to mind. You have just about admitted negativity with Rick not there ! But at least you say you would give it a listen but I feel your anguish about it all. Maybe some people date not go there because they feel a huge amount of guilt thinking it’s disrespectful to Rick but in reality it isn’t !! Would you give credit if the new album at least stood up to QPQ ?
You must admit yourself there are various people here who just love to ridicule for the sake of it because it’s no longer a Frantic line up. Yes I know that’s a majority rule on here fair enough. But I hope that we are continued to be allowed to give our opinions even if In a minority here. I’m not getting at anyone personally here it’s just my opinion and views on what I read.

A few things. 1. There are a few people here who indeed love to ridicule the current band. and if you read it's always the same ones. But for the rest, like 4th said earlier most of what comes across negative is just passion and dissapointment. If we think it goes too far messages will be deleted, especially if it goes into personal abuse. 2. Yes, of course you are allowed to give your opinions about it if you enjoy it. But let's face it, some of the people who enjoy the current band have just as much tried to tell fans of the older work what they should do and think and how they should comment or not and that is just as wrong as some of the ridiculous ridicule from a very small group who constantly ridicules. Believe me, they are on both sides of the spectrum and not just among the fans of the old work. I personally have never had any problem with fans who do like the current work and still follow the band. That is something I can accept without a problem. 3. If the new album would sound as good as QPQ I would be very surprised but yes I would give it credit. I am not gonna say something negative about it just cos Rick isn't there anymore. I just don't see how it could happen without Rick being there, but that's just a feeling I have.

Agreed Victor. I have been guilty of it in the past myself. At the end of the day I love the passion of debating our band constructively.

Same here It happens to most people I guess at some point, and basically cos actions bring reactions. I try to stay away from it as much as possible though and like you love good discussions obout our band as long as things indeed stay constructive.

Cabaret (English: /kæbəˈreɪ/) is a form of theatrical entertainment featuring music, song, dance, recitation, or drama. It is mainly distinguished by the performance venue, which might be a pub, a restaurant or a nightclub with a stage for performances.
Yes they have been cabaret Since 1968. I would say all bands start out Cabaret. But due to Venue explanation above not currently Cabaret !

OK... I'll explain my supposedly ignorant post. Rick had said the current lineup (at the time) was "cabaret". Cabaret (English: /kæbəˈreɪ/) is a form of theatrical entertainment featuring music, song, dance, recitation, or drama. It is mainly distinguished by the performance venue, which might be a pub, a restaurant or a nightclub with a stage for performances. Yes they have been cabaret Since 1968 Nothing wrong with still being Cabaret after 50!years ! I wouldn't class any performance in a pub as cabaret. I don't think anyone else would either. It very much depends on the act. For me, "cabaret" constitutes the overall mood and particulars of a Quo gig nowadays, i.e. people politely clapping, nods and winks from the band to the audience, the joking around - which happens every gig, hence why the term panto is also used.

Only going by the Oxford English Dictionary entry. That’s the legal difinative. I would say any band doing cover versions in a club or pub is Cabaret. Cabaret is entertainment in intimate venues is it not ?

Karaoke(thanks catlady), Panto, Cabaret...all descriptions that are just opinions of the band Quo. I couldn’t be bothered seeing Quo on their last tour of Oz but all previous gigs over here I really enjoyed. You guys have to separate what you saw back in the 70s as to what Quo is today. Totally different band. Anyway I’ve said my piece and it’ll just wash away in time as yours will.
