And the crowd go wild.....well, 6 of them seem to make an effort The band, whoever they are, are a tight entertainment unit, i'll gives them that but its cookie cutter Quo, not even CQ anymore.

I don’t know what I have seen and heard yet but it is definitely not Status Quo.

Well I gave it 34 mins - as far as WYP.
My first thought, watching Caroline was "ah, bless, they're getting on a bit now." Yes I know 2 members are much younger but the general energy level is for the other 3. And that's okay and to be expected.
I can' say its bad because it clearly isn't, in my opinion. But no tingle factor at all.
Sadly, it is Quo but not as I know it.
I do hope that they're really enjoying themselves at these gigs and its not only for the dosh. That's what I wish for them now. I'm fine as I have my memories and other live bands to enjoy.

What happened at the start there? Rhino got a fright from one of the crew, and Francis jumped out his skin when Richie began Caroline. Poor old codgers.

Rhino's stage presence is full of arrogance which is very off putting

Like a bunch of "executives" at a board meeting. No-one knows what's going on. One stands about and gawps. Him in charge looks lost and can't talk properly so you wonder what he gets up to in the intermittent toilet breaks. The rest think they're it simply because they're in the boardroom.

I have to admit that I only listened to the beginning in case it was too painful. And I missed that moment. Watched again. V funny as I'm sure Francis is hamming it up a bit.

This is a prime example why Quo stopped being my favourite band in the late 90's. I stuck up for them through thick and thin and even after they've carried on without Rick, but enough is enough. Rossi (who was once my hero) has always thought of himself as Status Quo (even if he'll never admit it publicly), so why doesn't he call it Francis Rossi's Status Quo? I'm not against the band carrying on, but I am against them using the name Status Quo to perform this muck, putting Rossi's name in front of it will make all the difference for me, cos it's his version of a once great band. I have nothing personal against any band member, but please just change the name, job's a guddun!

I'd rather watch clips of John Coglans Quo, then this from the Same Set List, Rossi's Quo.

After not listening to much Quo for many months and generally having lost interest, dreading the new album and avoiding any material of the current line up on YouTube, I stumbled across this clip of the gig last night - if I had read the comments on here or, even more so, the bile written on the YouTube comments, I wouldn't have given it a chance, but glad I did. Look, clearly it's not Quo in their FF heyday and yes, Rhino can be a right goon on stage, and no, Rossi is not immune from the ageing process, but in all honesty (brace yourself), this actually restored a little faith and reignited a tiny bit of interest.
A bit of balance to the hate is needed I think: in this particular gig, they actually play and sound like a rock act, Andy's keyboards don't wash all over the sound, they are musically as tight as the proverbial's 'chuff', Rossi is energetic beyond his years and solos v. well in my book, and to be fair to Richie Malone, who has the job of filling the boots of one of the most iconic and loved rock rhythm guitarists and who is/was irreplaceable, he (RM) puts in a great shift musically and vocally, and not sure how anyone could have met that challenge better. Don't get me wrong, I am 99% sure that on many other occasions, CQ have done none of the above (particularly the Andy B keyboard volume issue), and maybe being at a "heavy metal" event helped?
Since the 1980s Quo have managed to disappoint me, embarrass me, sound to me like they were going through the motions, sound like a shit attempt at a pop band rather than stick to what they were great at....and so on, and so on - the dreadful 'acoustic' stuff was as poor as anything ever done, on so many levels - in that rather dim context, this performance really ain't that bad at all. If anyone thinks 'yeah but it's so shit compared to when I saw them at the Appolo in 76', that's kind of missing my point.
