What can you say about this classic opener... Saw em back in the classic loud days but I remember the best Rick Parfitt moment in Canberra when Rick was heavily into the groove and down within inches n VERY LOUD...aahh what a moment..groovin with Rick and others...never forget it. He was rock and loved sharing it with us Quo fans. Never forget him.

Funny how I’ve grown really tired of Caroline over the years.Think it’s probably down to it being overplayed and the watered down version currently available to fans of FRQ. If it had been given a rest i think maybe I would have enjoyed it more though the EOTR MK version is still excellent Cheers

I could always be relied upon to go totally APE when it was played. But it evolved and lost it's power. The studio version also sounds pretty tame now, although it remains "covered in magic dust" and will always be special. Since the early 90's (when it started becoming more "honky tonk") the original power of the song was only heard in the last half minute or so. It really has lost it's oomph and power. Still love the live single.

Caroline - still younger than most of us Old Fans.
I went off it a bit for a while, but I know it's still in there. The riff and the little bend.

Never get bored of Caroline !! Just a question needs asking here. Are people that are bored of such a classic song really here as a fan ? they're bored of it due to it being overplayed and watered down. End of.

Ok could have worded it better sorry. What I mean is because we love a band that has been going for 50 odd years and Caroline is 50 years old now and has been played live however many times. Thousands. We have played it on our turntables a zillion times. Heard it on the radio hundreds of times. Maybe that is where The boredom really sets in. More so than the way the band now play it. I do think that’s part of the problem. But I just never ever tire of it. It’s a song to be celebrated for life no matter how the band play it in old age now. Not a wind up. Just an opinion !

Its still a great song but best heard unexpectedly on the radio, its probably the one song apart from bbj that should have been dropped on the 2014 tour . Ricks opener then when john & Al kick in are classic QUO moments.
