With your last two paragraphs unspokenwords , you are clearly being sarcastic. That is not what I meant and I'm sure you knew that. When you brought in Richie to the discussion which is fair enough, he is a member of SQ now, you didn't discuss any songs he had previously written. You gave us a general, vague, negative view on the talents of his previous band and then presumed that Francis would play his parts anyway. Is he miming on tour to a backing track then? Because following on from your opinion, that is one logical conclusion I can make. Sure he's not in Rick's league but then nobody would be. But I suspect he's better than you're giving him credit for to have lasted with Quo for this length of time. The impression your views give me are of being a begrudger for the sake of begrudgery. That is what I find exhausting to read. Its not about saying everything's great because we all know it isn't. Even I agree with you on that. There are more tactful ways to criticise another person's talents and abilities that don't simply bring down the tone of the discussion into easy negatives that might not even stand up when looked at closely. Having said all that, I can see why many fans find it hard and strange that Richie was plucked from relatively nowhere, in terms of the music biz, and given this amazing opportunity. Frankly, I do too a bit but that is less about his talents because I haven't closely listened to them. The way I square that is that Rick Parfitt had met and endorsed him. And that is good enough for me. I still think the censoring of my opinion and expression of my views in the manner carried out was totally unwarranted and ridiculous really. Even the latest reply is expressing 'opinions' to counter mine. In many discussions on this board comments have been made about how low in the live mix Richies guitar has often been with some saying they cannot even hear it. Francis has on many albums over dubbed other peoples contribution. He has said he would only record this album if he had total control. In my mind there is therefore some strong basis for the opinions expressed on this aspect. I have watched videos of Richie in Raid and other videos (but not with Francis Rossi's Quo as I find this distasteful) and based on my musical experience and knowledge I don't see anything that is exceptional and indeed think the other musicians and guitarist had much more talent. I am not commenting as someone with no musical knowledge or experience. You also say 'Sure he's not in Rick's league but then nobody would be. But I suspect he's better than you're giving him credit for to have lasted with Quo for this length of time." The length of time he has 'lasted' is relatively short and whilst I agree he's not in Ricks league that is also only your opinion. Some may feel he is in Ricks league and to state 'but then nobody would be' is a bold statement and some would view as not being the case. I could go on probing what you say but I think it is contradictory and to personally attack me as s begrudger, being untactful and for being negative and exhausting etc., is wrong and dismissing an honest contributor to discussion, a customer/colleague on the board in a sense and my passion.

That’s a lot of words you’ve written mate over the editing of a couple of lines. You’ve made your point. In the stickied mod decisions post at the top of this forum I ask that you PM the mods if you have an issue rather than drag out threads in public. As a ‘customer’ of this forum, where’s our payment from you this month? 😉 On a more serious note, Curious Girl mods on here in her free time, is as big a classic quo fan as anyone, and like all of us, tries to mod as fairly as possible, and certainly didn’t deserve your sarcastic response, in my opinion. I know it’s easy to get pissed off when you think something is unfairly done but you can always just politely PM us you know.....
