If there's one band who can mess up reissues, then it's definitely Quo. Some of the B-Sides are either missing or in the wrong order, the 2 Fighter demos on mine are wrongly titled and in the wrong order. Also as far as I was told a few years ago, Rossi, Coghlan & Lancaster only have involvement with The House by Bernie Frost but no involvement with the b-side track. Didn't Quo play Save Me on a few dates of the Army tour? Surely they could've put that on instead of Rain which shouldn't even be on it as far as I'm concerned, and why no single edit of Naughty Girl? Did any copies of these reissues come with a sticker on them saying Deluxe Edition as in the photos, cos mine didn't and I haven't seen any that have. Save Me was meant to be included, as was In The Army Now from the Den Bosch Maaspoort gig, 1986... Missing B-Sides are;- The Wanderer (Sharon The Nag) Milton Keynes Medley Naughty Girl (7" Edit) was meant to be included but probably chopped due to disc timings Jealousy (1985) is missing the 7" Edit also I gave them the names for the Fighter Alt Takes when I chose them from 8 Alt Versions, not sure why they got them mixed up Yes Rossi and Coghlan played on the Bernie Frost track... not sure about Alan and not all Deluxe Editions come with the stickers... depends where you purchase them from. I have all the missing tracks if you would like those? (apart from 7" Edit Jealousy) Cheers

I had the Bernie Frost 7" a few years ago and at the time the guy I bought it from was calling it the great lost Quo single cos not many people knew about it. He said that Rick was the only one who didn't play on The House and that none of Quo played on the b-side. The drumming style on the b-side definitely doesn't sound like Coghlan at all. I did wonder if the mix of Jealousy on the Back To Back CD was in fact the 12" version and not the 7" as it sounds more like a 12" mix but I didn't have the originals anymore to compare.

Will get them sorted! I'd not heard of The House so until I go a collection of Rossi / Frost material a good while back, and I haven't really listened to it all the way through... Might have to. And yes, it's the 12" of Jealousy as it has the instrumental sections... I would make the 7" edit from it but it's impossible as one of the sections are missing from the 12" that's on the 7". I have a Promo Version of Naughty Girl also. Save Me wasn't used in the end as we didn't have a good copy of the Den Bosch gig... Hence why a Live Version of Army isn't on there either Cheers

Classic Rock gives the 4s and 5s out of 10 in their reviews with only around 3 lines in total. Calls them from "the lean years".
I have to say, I hate the mastering on these remasters - the sound is too thin for me. Some bands don't need clarity and separation - Quo are one of them.

I must say I'm glad that the 1988 version of Rockin' All Over The World that's on the Deluxe Ain't Complaining is the version with proper ending and not the fade edit.

Still pointless though why they put Rain (live) on Army instead of Save Me and wrongly titled the Better Times riff but then this is Quo after all.

That was a nice surprise as I didn’t know a version with the proper ending existed. Although it always seemed odd that the Running version ended despite the fact they are the same recording !!

I think the Rockin' with ending was on the Smashie & Nicey CD and the fade edit was on the 1989 USA compilation called Status Quo.

Like I said, at the time they only had a bad copy of Den Bosch to work with an it wasn't worth it, so Army and Save Me were dropped from the tracklisting

Why were none of the tracks from the MADDOX 18 Promo used for the Army deluxe? I still haven't heard any them. Lol

The CD credits the song to 'Rossi-Frost'. Several writing credits are wrong, notably the rehearsal of Stay the Night on 1982...

Did any copies of these reissues come with a sticker on them saying Deluxe Edition as in the photos, cos mine didn't and I haven't seen any that have. 1) The tracklistings I made (which these are based on) were in the right order. Things changed around but I'm not sure I could have done much against them. And the omissions I simply noticed too late - sorry guys, I wish it hadn't happened2) True, but at least we're getting a digital release of both sides of the single. 3) They did and it was part of my drafts. Rain I included for curiosity's sake because of the unique intro. I generally didn't include single edits because I felt that a) the CDs were having space issues already, b) most of them are rather superfluous imo and c) in this case we've already got four versions of the same song across 2 CDs; more would've been a bit overkill. I did mention this particular edit during compilation but it was decided not to include it. It's not entirely unlikely that there will be a strict "singles collection" sort of release at some point though, replicating the 7" boxes on CDs. I'm not overly crazy about the idea but it has been discussed. 4) The stickers are gone, sadly. "Cost-cutting measurements" apparently (!?). The last ones I have which still included them were OTL and WYW. IYCSTH didn't have one already, and neither did any of the 4 following reissues.
