Just saw this on youtube, what a great live song. I know the performance and even the fact they sang it will divide opinions on here but I enjoyed it and thought Richie did a great job.

I wasn't sure whether I wanted to listen to this at first, but I'm glad I did. Very bittersweet thinking that it should be Rick there, but yes I thought Richie did a great job.

I quite like what little I've seen of Richie, he seems to "get it". I can't help but wonder whether he finds it a tad frustrating at times in The Francis Rossi's "Official" Status Quo Show [Accept No Substitute].

Great the song gets an airing. At last someone is taking chances, shaking up the status quo.

Sloppy ‘ol Rhino ruins it for me. A thousand miles of what Quo was but Ritchie gets it .

Thanks Bluehighway. And I'm sure Richie misses Rick in the way we all do. A lovely tribute to Rick.

No shite being thrown. I'm glad he as Rick's greatest fan played this as a tribute for the fans. I feel sorry for Rhino. He as a close friend who played on the recordings has every right to be there. I applaud him as well for doing this. What a treat for the Irish fans.
(The only one who should stay very far away from this song is Francis. He's lost every credibility, never acknowleging the great loss that was Rick's demise.)

He does great on Mystery Song too, so good to hear it live again, I just wish he did the vocals on Backwater too. Great Hammond from Andy too. Cut straight to 4:25.

Absolutely he does, he was first and foremost a fan and he’ll be living the dream. However, I didn’t enjoy any of that in much the same way I don’t really enjoy tribute bands. Technically it’s good but it’s a facsimile. Standing on the shoulders of giants. I wish I could put my finger on it as I easily contradict myself by enjoying say, the current Foreigner lineup, or thinking about it, your Rainbow Project with Åge Sten Nilsen! Maybe it’s because it’s all so recent with Quo. Not for me.

Maybe it’s because it’s all so recent with Quo. Not for me. Absolutely true but when the original no longer exists the only choice is stick with recorded versions from the past or see a different line up live playing old songs that you probably love. It's a personal choice which you prefer, for me hearing a song live always gets my heart beating faster, whether it's me in the audience as a fan of whichever singer or band it is, or me on stage with whichever band I happen to be working with. Certainly for Rainbow there's such a wide range of ex-members plus Ritchie with his new version it's pay your money and take your choice. The chance of "allstar" line up of ex members though planned sadly never came to fruition.

Richie plays very well, but Crowd look like they’ve been dragged from madam Tussaud’s.
No chemistry whatsoever. That must be soul-sapping hour and half?
