Seriously, those might be two of the worst songs ever written by anybody in history.

And yet Francis really rates this one. I vaguely remember him claiming that this was the best thing he ever wrote although he knew not a lot of us would agree with him. Now I'm convinced that anyone is entitled to their opinion except when it's completely bonkers. This is such a case. Tommy is complete piss and weak at that.

have you not heard Modern Romance This one must have been deemed better to keep for a solo project than "Jealousy". Just think what could have been if it hadn't been!

How anyone thought that deemed better by anyone's ears at time is beyond me. Imagine if Modern Romance ended up on ITAN or AC.

I'd never heard Tommy either, so I listened to the edgier version (I know 4th was being ironic) and lasted 48 seconds. Its very bland and didn't have a hook for me.
I quite like Francis' poppier stuff, so I looked up the writing credits on his last solo album which I have. Of course, they're mostly him and Bob Young. So that's it then. My least favs on that album are the Guy Johnson collabs. And I'm not a fan of his work with Bernie Frost either. No surprise then that I'm not a fan of this track.
I don't remember any skippers back on the day, up to 84. But then it was hard to skip when you listened on cassette tape.

Almost everything post 81. does that equal 30 or 300 songs, i don't know but a darn site more than 3. I do like some more modern Quo stuff mind you. But...in the whole scheme of things they lost the plot completely and pulled the wool over everyone's eyes for nigh on 30 years, living off their heyday. Suckers.

Some of us were calling it out from the early 80s onwards.
