'Teary eyed' ? So off their heads it was not real emotion. In any case. It was a betrayal. A lie and a sham. There was no John. It did n't really sound like Status quo. Francis lied from the stage. He was already planning his new vision. A split in the band and he a solo super star. To quote Mr Rossi or at least accurately paraphrasing him. 'Going out on a tour would mean going back on our word and betraying the fans'. Well he was right. Only an end because Francis had thrown his toys out of the pram. Well look at what it led to to. An average soft rock band that was a fraction as good as the one before. Alan wasn't off his head. Francis, for the majority wasn't. You can see the point from which where he is. Rick just looked downbeat for most of it Still doesn't take away from the fact it was a stonking gig I’m sure it was. It’s decades since I have watched the video. Which was butchered. But to me it’s like learning that Santa wasnt real. Leaves a bitter taste, always will. The day Status Quo finished until the reunion. They still a great rock band. But Francis and Rick killed it.

If you watch it back now, Francis gets really into it at times. There's a moment in 4500 times, at the key change, where Rick, Francis and Alan are so into it that the running around stops and Rick signals to Pete to keep playing the groove he was. Then comes the encore and Francis is smiling and hugging everyone all over the shop. Obviously had a bit before he came back on. Rick again just seems miserable. I've never seen Alan out of it in a live situation.

Imagine if the Back to Back release has the entire audio of MK EOTR as a bonus!!!!Wont happen I know Cheers sadly not At my behest it should be said. Yes, there was the idea of putting live tracks on it, but it wasn't the entire gig and I pointed out the MK show should be a separate release of its own.

Does anybody actually buy these things other than collectors? They are far from necessary... we just don't need them, or want them The only one that was worth anything was the RAOTW deluxe purely for the John Eden remix Yes Andy Pearce's remastering sounds better than previous versions to my ears. Besides, it's been over ten years since the remasters were released, and many of the later ones didn't include all available extra tracks (RTYD being a particularly noteworthy example). I don't see any harm in replacing the old versions with new, improved and expanded versions. Arguably the post-FF albums are less popular on here, but ITAN in particular was a very successful LP and it doesn't hurt to get that out again (for what's likely the last time, seeing that physical media are on the decline anyway).

Maybe they could replace the drums on 1982 with a more modern drum machine so it at least sounds like a real drummer!

I'm waiting to buy a few copies of the remastered Thirsty Work, one of the legs on my Lidl deluxe garden lounger needs propping up.

Jethro Tull might do this with "Under Wraps" though (but their deluxe editions are stratospheric anyway - new mixes in stereo and 5.1, outtakes no-one's ever heard about, video, remixed live concerts, long articles...)

I didn't hear that but thank God they didn't bother. That show deserves its own release. Such a shame Universal own the rights over that and many things to be honest
