Well, us lot always see things differently...
Terrible set list, pure hits n medley stuff, nothing at all for fans. My fave gig from this line up was Manchester GMEX 88. A belter.

I'll never understand why they played the Roadhouse Medley when they played at festivals or had to play a shorter set... BUT this version is a belter, and you can't beat watching Rick rock out infront of the Wall Of Death

Rick was in his element at that show the mix is great for all the songs played for me WYW, ITN,BB,Rockin are the definitive live versions that version of Rockin i have not heard a version close to it same for WYW & BB. Roadhouse Blues is prob the best after the Live album imo.
The mix is the best Quo have sounded since again the Live Album Rossi's guitar sounded great at that time Rick's guitar still sounded raw his playing was at peak levels his voice was strong and powerful.
Rossi during the first few mins of Roadhouse i always get the impression they was going to play something else and Rick goes into Roadhouse just by the few bits of his body language he gives off on a few shots shrugs his shoulders at someone to say "i dunno why we are now playing this"

I wish there was more shots of the crowd, especially in the opening of WYW Shame they don't have any intention to remaster and re-release these concerts on DVD. Band missing out on money BIG TIME... when they are people (like myself) uploading these gigs to Youtube, the band don't earn anything... maybe something from the audio but not exactly the biggest amount, and then people getting copies from other people. Live At The N.E.C. End Of The Road - Milton Keynes Bowl Brussels 1986 Out In The Green 1986 Birmingham N.E.C. 1989 Germany 1990 Knebworth 1990 Sheffield (RTYD Marathon) Glasgow (RTYD Marathon) Birmingham (RTYD Marathon) Wembley (RTYD Marathon) Live Alive Quo Various festivals throughout the 90's I'd gladly pay for a DVD boxset collection of all their footage remastered

I used to still go and see the band during this era and enjoyed many of the shows but when I watch this video I think to myself 'did I really enjoy this live?'
Found myself skipping most of it, watching bits and pieces here and there where the old band arrangements or songs surfaced, but it just was not interesting. It is slick, short, polished, basically trying to be a band of pop hits in a medley, but the vibe and beat is all wrong (far far too fast and rushed) and simply it is no longer Status Quo. It is not an original rock band but clearly a show for general audiences who didn't really know or care about the bands music, just wanted to se them once, have a good time, and forget it.
And yet at this time I continued to see them live (thought they were good and I had a good time, but I gradually thereafter found them uninteresting and stopped going altogether), and even buy their records (although I definitely thought these were generally very poor and was deeply disappointed by the product).
Looking back I wonder why? A false sense of loyalty and hoping to support something so that it could perhaps return to what they originally did and which I liked? The reunion tours answered a lot of questions and were a reminder of what was missing.

The reunion tours answered a lot of questions and were a reminder of what was missing. This was a “hits” set at the request of Radio 1, who still complained that it was lacking any hits! Perhaps Roadhouse Blues in such a long form was an odd choice, but did include a medley of more “hits”. Needless to say, even although fans had voted for Quo to play the BBC Radio 1 25th Anniversary, the BBC big wigs were not impressed with the set.

Well the set did include all the major hits "WYW, Army,Rockin,Caroline" then the medley as well. What other hits did the big wigs at BBC want/expect them to play as well??
