I think there are a lot of rose tinted glasses going on. If this was a Quo song it would be largely roasted as the pish it is. But it isn’t a Quo song. It’s a Rick Parfitt solo album. Subtle difference. I never said it was. The point I make I say not that it’s a Quo song. But you know that already.

It’s a bit like saying that if All Rise by Blue was a Quo song it’d be pish. Well yes it would be; but it’d be a pointless analogy. Usually the point of any artist doing a solo album is to do something a little different. This track sounds a little different, but whether it is pish or not is a matter of opinion.

You would recognise the sound anywhere. But the song doesn’t sound unlike the music they recorded in the late 80s/early 90s. So in that sense it isn’t. But once again it’s not the point I was making. But you knew that already. To be fair to others. This is the last I will say on the subject.

I think this is great. Love the ZZ Top vibe going on. Some excellent guitar work.
Surprised people don't seem to like it tbh, it's got a back bone and guitars, which most of the 80s stuff didn't and is better than Ballad Quo in the 90s.

I like it for what it is... a Rick Parfitt Rock/Pop song. It's not Quo either old or new but on 2 listens, I quite like it. Whether I grow to love it when I get the album remains to be seen. I get what people are saying about the 80's vibe but it certainly doesn't sound anything like Quo tracks of the 80's or the 90's thank goodness. A bit harsh to call it pish on the basis of these clips. All I know is that I can listen to these tracks and they don't offend me so much that I have to turn them off straight away, unlike certain other songs that get posted on here! I will definitely listen to the album a few times and then decide whether I like, love or hate it.

It’s not like it’s going to transform in the rest of the song. It doesn’t offend me but it is incredibly bland. Sounding almost like OMD or Midge Ure. I will buy the album but think I’m doing so out of respect for the great man. Hopefully I will be pleasantly surprised.

Yes everyone will have their own opinion on the merits of the songs.
