He didn't say anyone hated him (or that he hated anyone), and he didn't say they all buy music. He just said they didn't care. He's entirely right. The vast majority of people don't care at all about any particular artist, even the most famous ones. What you're saying and what Francis has said are two entirely different things. He constantly uses entire populations of countries to imply that EVERYONE in a country is relevant in his argument. Guess what?! They aren't. His "stats" mean nothing. Just more verbal diarrhoea from one half of Hinge and Bracket. To be fair on Francis, I think he was basically saying that the majority of the population don't care about him or Quo, highlighting that in the real world, what a band does is not really that important. He was not saying that everyone in the country is relevant to his argument but rather the opposite, so in effect, agreeing with you.

It's only fans who don't always get this. Talk for yourself. Francis' often-peddled "argument" about the popularity of artists is flawed - like everything else to do with him. He takes it to the extreme by claiming there's a constant customer base of 100 million. Does anyone seriously believe that the majority of the country doesn't buy Ed Sheeran's music because they "hate" him? Does everyone in the country actually buy music? We clearly understand what his point is differently. I understand his argument to come from having worked in showbusiness for 50 years where if you're famous and popular, which Quo have been - with ups and downs - for a long time, a sense of self importance can go to your head and give you a false view of yourself. Btw - I know you will say he already has this sense of ego but I don't see that, I see him more as a survivor or trying to survive. And that he has a big lack of personal skills when it comes to explaining his choices. I'm no longer much of a fan of him any more, before you call me an apologist for him. Francis' point about the population of the planet vs how many fans of say Michael Jackson there are , I see that as his way of putting some perspective on being famous. Not everyone is your fan simply because you have millions of fans. And that I see as a way to ground himself. And to cope when his popularity starts to wane, maybe, or as a way to keep going. Like Mrs F, I don't remember him using the word 'hate'. Maybe he did but I doubt that was his point. It is a very loaded word. But I do agree that the population who don't by Ed Sheeran's music don't like it, or don't like it enough to buy it or even steal it.

One has to understand that these private shows pay at least twice what a regular gig pays. As much as GBP400,000. So why not? Artistic integrity doesn’t pay the rent, and given Rick was worth GBP250,000 when he died you can see it isn’t lucrative anymore.

4 million Swedish crowns? I don't want to sound anti-Quo in any way, but.... I *think* there is one zero too many on that amount.....
