In all seriousness, I think this guy is referencing Back To Back era... We know Rossi did it. Alan has said about GDTT that it's a Francis Rossi record as the rest of the band never played on it.... Who's to say it didn't happen on other things between JS and BTB? We know there was bad blood around then. We know Nuff didn't approve of the majority of the material on those albums... I can believe that Rossi would "tweak" certain things to suit his pop agenda...

You'll all be glad to learn that my book Railroads Riffs & Rumours will be hitting the shops before xmas. Here's a sneak preview of the Status Quo section.
"John Edwards and Jeff Rich were invited to rehearse with Status Quo after playing on Ricks shite album. They had done the album having only seen Rick sing and they took it for granted that he'd did all the guitar stuff. To say they were amazed that instead of FR and RP they were greeted by Bert Weedon & renowned George Formby impersonator Allan Randall is an understatement. With a cheery "It'll turn out nice again" Randall told them he had been playing the RP role on all the records since 1968 after an initial meeting at Butlins and he had roped Weedon in when it was obvious that FR,or Mike as was known, was prone to replaying jingles from an ice cream van.He also added with a toothy grin and a gleeful chortle that all Quo albums had "trade" titles. The best and most amusing was Mr Wu For You"

Well, I've compared the FF and Quo Lite from the standpoint of not knowing one from the other, and if Rossi did the drums and bass then why have those sucked ever since they got rid of Spud and Nuff, even on his own solo work? Utter bullshit.

Good afternoon...
New on the board. Does that mean I have to make the tea?!
There was a time in the 70s when the band had put down the track 'Wild Side Of Life' in the studio. They then went off to Australia. Whilst away the Producer Roger Glover overdubbed Alan's bass. Something to do with the tempo I believe.
We all know Alan's bass style and it was brill to hear the band again at the reunion gigs. Still stunned by how good 'Railroad' sounded at Hammersmith.
As quite a few others have said on here, this story could be relating to the dodgy years and the track 'Jealously' became Rossi's and Bernie F's baby and there are suggestions that they re-recorded it for the album. Were there any others?
Quo were not short of bass players at the time with Andy B and even John Eden. Though not suggesting they were involved as such.
I have pals who are good at embellishing an average story!

Just off the theme a bit but connected in terms of what punters think they are hearing on a record.
Rick and Francis went into the studio to join the cast and crew for 'Do They Know It's Christmas'.
When the time came for them to do their 'bit'on the record, Bob and Midge asked them to do their famous Quo harmonies.
Rick had been out the night before and still going at it full tilt in the corridors of the studio. His voice was as rough as a badger's and he wasn't cutting it. Midge had to go over to Rick and diplomatically ask him to step down.
Francis carried on. He went over to Midge afterwards and whispered in his ear that he does his own harmonies in the studio and not with Rick as such.

On the documentary (?) video they sort of nail the harmonies, as weedy as they are... But... an interesting story regardless the outcome of the subject!
